Estimates of Collective Behavior of … Biological Agents |
December 3rd, 2009 |
On December 3, 2009 Jian-Guo Liu will be leading a discussion on Some estimates on collective behavior of self-propelled biological agents.
Location: 4219 French Family Science Center
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Abstract: Collective behaviors of self-propelled biological agents (birds, fish, bacteria, etc) such as flocking, swarming, synchronization, motivated much of recent theoretical and experimental research activities. In this informal talk I will present some of my recent work on modeling and analysis related to flocking of birds and fish, synchronization of Kuramoto oscillators, and swimming of bacteria in water.
